A regular spot for fly-tipping

On Wednesday 25 April local police had to move seven fridge freezers off the road at the first bend at the Brookmans Park end of Bradmore Lane. Six days later another 13 are lining the sides of the Warrengate Road end of the lane.

Public urged to report fly-tipping

As always, the local authority and police want to hear from anyone who saw the incident. Did you witness anything? Do you recognise the items?

Welwyn Hatfield has a page for reporting fly-tipping, and Hertfordshrie police need to be notified if you see fly-tipping taking place or if it's blocking the road and creating a hazard.

According to one local resident posting in the Brookmans Park Newsletter Forum it should be possible to track the owners.

"Some of the original fridge owners could be tracked down via the serial no’s/ manufacturers/ retailer/ warranty/ payment info. and then asked who they paid to dispose of them. However, that depends on whether the council and/or police have enough resource to investigate this before the trail goes cold!"

This site contacted Welwyn Hatfield via Twitter and received the following replies.

Report littering or fly tipping

One local Twitter user had a suggesting for catching and dealing with the culprits.
