A black metal bench, depicting silhouettes of soldiers serving in WWI, has been installed at the North Mymms War Memorial outside North Mymms Park off Tollgate Road.

The bench has been paid for by North Mymms Parish Council (NMPC) at a total cost of £971.40 (£809.50 + VAT).

NMPC applied to Hertfordshire County Council for a Locality Budget Grant to cover the cost. The grant was approved and monies have been received.

The initiative is part of the Local Government Association's national campaign Battle's Over – A Nation’s Tribute.

In commemoration of all those who fell 100 years ago”

There is also a feature on the NMHP recording the nine WWI and WWII war graves in  St Mary's churchyard, North Mymms.
