The road will now be closed to traffic for five hours a day not the six originally thought. Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) had announced Pine Grove would be closed between 09.30 and 15.30, but Chancellor's School has spoken to the council and it's now been agreed that the road will reopen at 14.30 to allow for school traffic.
There had been some confusion regarding how long the resurfacing of the road would take.
A sign at the south end of Pine Grove indicates a four-day closure. A letter from Hertfordshire County Council to residents said it would take five days. The website www.roadworks.org says the work will take five days. But an email from Chancellor's School to parents, guardians, and students says it will take six days.
