Jonas Way between Moffats Lane and Gobions Open Space in Brookmans Park is again pitted with potholes weeks after volunteers tried to patch up the problem.

Vehicles and weather appear to have taken their toll on the temporary solution introduced by Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust (HMWT) and North Mymms Parish Council (NMPC).

Jonas Way is owned and managed by HMWT; the car park it leads to is owned and managed by NMPC. Beyond the parish council managed Gobions Open Space is Gobions Wood, which is managed by the trust.

The council provided the material for the infill for the temporary patch up work, and the trust provided the volunteer labour.

The road, which is used by dog owners, anglers, guardians taking children to use the play equipment, and those accessing a network of local footpaths, had become difficult to drive along because of the depth of the holes.

The plan for the patch up was announced in July 2018. The work was carried out three months later in October.

The issue will be discussed at the next NMPC meeting on Wednesday 23 January 2019.
