Invitation to attend career information evening

Herts PCSO recruitment material

Hertfordshire Constabulary is inviting anyone who would like to join the force as a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) to attend an information evening on Thursday 16 May at the force HQ in Welwyn Garden City. The event starts at 7pm.

The work of a PCSO is described by Herts police as being: “absolutely vital in offering a reassuring presence to the public, helping to fight crime and anti-social behaviour, and forge stronger relationships with the community we serve”.
“As a uniformed officer out on foot patrol, you will act as a visible deterrent to crime and anti-social behaviour and deal with situations and people you would probably never encounter in your day-to-day life. Most of all, you will get to see the real impact of crime on people’s lives and the extraordinary power you have as an individual to make a real difference.
“Police Community Support Officers are rightly proud of the amazing work they do. Not only do they help increase public safety and maintain community confidence, but they make neighbourhoods better places to live and help young people make positive choices in their lives.”

A PCSO is a paid role that involves evening and weekend shift work, sometimes until 11pm. You might be required to work at various locations across the county.

Hertfordshire Constabulary says applications for working on a part-time basis are welcome “although hours requested need to fit in with operational requirements”. Check the PCSO frequently asked questions.
