Bulls Lane partially blocked by fly-tipping

Garden turf dumped east of Skimpans Bridge

A load of garden turf has been fly-tipped along Bulls Lane close to Welham Green, reducing the passable width of the road by half.

Drivers should take care because there is at least one concrete fence post buried under the pile of earth and grass.

Duty of care

Have you had your lawn replaced recently? Did you check the credentials of those doing the work?

According to @HertsWasteAware anyone whose waste is fly-tipped, even if they were unaware the unwanted material would end up being dumped illegally, is responsible and could face a fine.

Local residents have a “duty of care” to ensure that any items removed from their homes are taken by a registered waste disposal firm who commit to dispose of the material legally.
