Gobions “not a park or recreation ground”
The woman wanted to sell tea, coffee, cold drinks, cake and pastries between 8am – 12pm from a small “quaint” truck which, it was claimed, would be in keeping with the local environment.
The car park is at its busiest in the early morning and early evening, particularly with people walking their dogs.
But the parish council says “Gobions is an open space, not a park or recreation ground”.
NMPC also expressed concern about rubbish being created and the need for toilet facilities.
The local authority felt the presence of such a refreshments van would “upset the rural balance of the car park” and ruled that the proposal was “inappropriate and out of keeping for the location”.
