Speed Indication Devices (SIDs) - the flashing warning signs that tell motorists when they are travelling too fast - are to be set up along Dixons Hill Road and Station Road in Welham Green.

It follows a successful bid from North Mymms Parish Council (NMPC).

The local authority also pitched for funds to pay for a traffic speed and volume survey to be carried out on Hawkshead Road to see if it meets the speed criteria for an SID (more on SIDs in the embedded document below).

Hawkshead Road speed survey

If the speed and volume survey along Hawkshead Road results in information that meets the  criteria for the positioning of an SID along that stretch of road an application for another sign will be submitted.

Hertfordshire Constabulary carries out regular speed checks throughout North Mymms, with the fines collected used to fund other road safety initiatives.
