GTR says that’s when Transport for London (TfL) envisages “being ready to introduce the contactless pay-as-you-go payment option”.
A GTR spokesperson told this site that the new readers will work for contactless payment cards only and not with Oyster cards.
Welham Green to follow
According to GTR no date has been set for the extension of the service to Welham Green, which will be introduced “some time later than Brookmans Park; it may be before the end of the year”.
