Concern has been expressed on the Brookmans Park Community Facebook page about the appearance of white powder in both Gobions Open Space and the Gobions Wood nature reserve.

Some were worried about whether the powder could be harmful to pets.

This site contacted both Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust (HMWT) and North Mymms Parish Council (NMPC) to see if they knew what it was.

HMWT’s local warden reported that she had checked on the substance, following reports to the trust from the public, and found it to be flour.

It’s thought it was laid as a trail for runners. The warden had spoken to some dog owners who reported seeing a running event the previous day.

Most of the flour was in the Gobions Wood although some was on the adjacent NMPC-owned land.
