Potterells Medical Centre will be open as usual on Monday 19 August when part of Station Road, south of the surgery, is closed.

The centre will be accessible from Welham Green, despite a road closure sign being placed at the junction of Station Road and Bulls Lane.

A road closure sign has also been placed at the junction of Bradmore Lane at the Brookmans Park end of Station Road.

T-Mobile will be working on the telecommunications mast on Station Road resulting in a section 400m north of the junction with Bradmore Lane being closed to traffic from 9.30am to 4pm.

According to Potterells Medical Centre, those wanting to visit the surgery from Brookmans Park will be allowed through, despite the road closure, if they say they have an appointment at Potterells.

However Hertfordshire Highways, posting on Twitter, says “all vehicular traffic is prohibited” from using the section south of the surgery.

Herts Highways followed that tweet up with a clarification contradicting the claim from Potterells Medical Centre that patients will be allowed through from the south.

The Herts Highways site links to Roadworks.org which gives more details of the closure.

Local bus service diverted

According to UNO, buses will divert via Bluebridge Road, Bradmore Green, Georges Wood Road and A1000 Great North Road. Buses will not serve Welham Green during the period of diversion.
