An Inter-City 125 made its last journey through North Mymms on Saturday 21 December, decked out in its original British Rail livery.

Several people posted their pictures of the event on Twitter.

The Inter-City 125s have been serving the East Coast Main Line for more than 40 years and are now being replaced by the new Azuma trains.

Four special legs of the “farewell tour” were organised by train operator LNER, the last being the trip from Leeds to London King’s Cross, called The West Riding Limited.

The train left Leeds at 11.01am, headed south via Doncaster and Peterborough, then through North Mymms and Potters Bar, reaching London King’s Cross at 3.09pm.

LNER staff were collecting for CALM, a charity tackling male suicide, and other regional charities the company supports.
