Brookmans Park resident confronts burglar on stairs

Home owner threatened by intruder as torch shone in face

Police say an intruder broke into a house on Bluebridge Road, Brookmans Park in the early hours of Saturday 1 February.

Officers investigating the incident say the occupant was woken by the sound of footsteps on the stairs.

As he walked out of his bedroom he was "confronted by the intruder" who "shone a torch" in the home owner's face and shouted "stay away" before making off.

Police say the incident happened between 2:25am and 2:35am.

They are asking for anyone who might have any information, particularly anyone with CCTV or doorbell footage, to contact Hertfordshire police on 101 and quote crime reference number 41/9517/20.
