Hearings to discuss Welwyn Hatfield’s local plan have been postponed until further notice.

The sessions, which would have considered proposals for local housing development, were due to take place from 11 to 15 May.

A statement from Welwyn Hatfield Council says the hearing sessions will not take place for at least three months, and that this might be extended further.

All who have registered for updates will be contacted by email when a new date is set.

The advice not to go ahead with the sessions has been sent to all local authorities by the government as part of its “response to the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19)”.

Although the Stage 8 hearing sessions will not be taking place, the inspector has confirmed that the deadline for hearing statements for the matters that were to be discussed at the May hearing sessions remains as 5.00 pm on Thursday 23 April.
