Timber removal from Gobions Wood

Some paths might be cordoned off while work is carried out

Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust is removing large amounts of timber from the middle of Gobions Wood this week. Those walking in the area are advised that some of footpaths in the area might be cordoned off while the work takes place.

The trust says the removal of the timber will be from an area known as the ‘Hanging Woods’ which is south of the West/Middle fields, shown in grey and outlined in red on the map below.

It’s the section where sycamore trees were cleared last year. The work will take two to three days.

Contractors will be accessing Gobions Wood from the Royal Veterinary College field to the south.
