Wanted - old images of North Mymms

A project to preserve local history for future generations

Do you have any old images of North Mymms you would be willing to share?

Our history site, The North Mymms History Project (NMHP) already has hundreds of photographs recording the history of the parish, and we are keen to add to the collection.

If you have any images of places, people, or events, we would love to borrow and scan them for use on the site and then return them to you.

We already have the Images of North Mymms collection, and have reproduced the North Mymms Pictures From The Past booklet on the site. There are also hundreds of pictures attached to almost 200 features about the areas history.

But we are keen to digitise photographs of the area’s past before they are lost forever.

Images of Bell Bar, Brookmans Park, Little Heath, Water End, Welham Green or anywhere in North Mymms would be welcome.

If possible, it would be great to include information about where and when the picture was taken, who took it, and the name of the person who loaned it to the NMHP so that we can include the details on the site.

We can’t pay you for the loan of your images - the NMHP is a non-commercial site with the costs being covered by a small team of volunteers - but we would hope that helping to digitise and record local history for future generations would be reward enough. It’s certainly what keeps us going.

If you have images you would like to share, please use the contact form at the bottom right of any page to get in touch.

We are also interested in old documents or booklets about the area. Again, we would like to scan these and return them to you. And, as with the images, full attribution will be given unless anonymity is requested, which, of course, we would respect.

Your feedback on the articles posted on North Mymms News is always welcome. Please use the comment box below any news item to have your say. Comments are pre-moderated, so there will be a delay before they appear.
